Responsibilities:
- The DOSM is responsible to head and manage the sales department which includes training and supervising of the hotel’s sales (& marketing) team.
- Leads the Sales team to achieve sales targets with targeted yields for room sales and assists in Banquet sales
- The DOSM will work closely with the General Manager to determine appropriate sales strategies in all market segments towards maximizing the hotel revenues. He/she is also responsible for a maximum of occupancy of conferences and banquettes in order to optimize general business opportunities.
- The DOSM will create lucrative sales targets and networks business relations to corporate client, like airlines, tourist offices, different book services etc.
- Responsible to observe the market, identity trend and monitor the main competitors.
- Plans budget and action plans for sales trips locally and abroad with sales blitzes and trade fairs, wedding fairs, etc, annually in support of business with contribution to the bottom-line.
- Motivates and ensures all sales staff procures business through enquiries received and issues quotations and follows up closely till materialisation of business, checking on their daily, weekly and monthly appointment arrangements and production reports.
- Ensures all sales persons source from new contacts and services existing accounts to ensure individual and team targets are achieved.
- Ensures all sectors procure repeat business by sales persons building close rapport with clients.
- Follows through closely to ensure all collections for business are done by relevant sales person.
- Personally attends to sales of the top contributors of each sector in particular corporate and major accounts.
- Works closely with Management to ensure all communication is channelled effectively and business goals are achieved.
- Ensures the Sales Management Report and any other reports are prepared accurately within deadlines for presentation to Management.
Requirements:
- Candidates must possess at least a MCE/SPM and those with a Degree of Diploma in Sales and Marketing, Hotel Management or equivalent are preferred.
- At least 2 years experience in similar position at Director (DOSM) level in the hotel industry.
- Candidates without a Degree or Diploma but with 7 years experience in hospitality sales with a good track record will be considered.
- Candidates must have good contacts in all the sectors and is able to achieve targets set.
- Must have a car and is mobile to travel whenever necessary attending to local sales trips and overseas sales and trade fairs.
- Has working knowledge of Microsoft Office Package and is able to do presentations to overseas and other clients when necessary.
- Has good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Highly committed and is responsible with good organizational and planning skills
