Responsibilities:
- Report directly to and work with the Group CEO and acts as a trusted advisor to the executive leadership team for providing financial advice and support to enable them to make sound business decisions.
- The Group Finance Manager holds a variety of responsibilities, including cash management, budgeting, compliance, internal controls, corporate credit and collection, audit, financial planning and strategic planning.
- Responsible for financial oversight and to assist the Group CEO on all the financial risks undertaken by the group of companies.
- Undertaking strategic analysis and assisting with strategic planning. Responsible in assisting the CEO and other top management to plan, formulate and implement growth strategy, profitability strategy, financial strategy, tax strategy and long-term business plans.
- Undertaking research into pricing, competitors and factors affecting performance.
- Developing and managing financial systems/models.
- Carrying out business modelling and risk assessments.
- Responsible to analysis the reports provided by the Controller to generate working capital and forecast information. Analyzing and reviewing monthly P&L statements, balance sheets and cash flows and provide the information needed to drive toward data-based decisions.
- Responsible in providing and interpreting financial information for the group of companies.
- Responsible in monitoring and interpreting cash flows and predicting future trends; analysing change and advising accordingly.
- Responsible to oversee major business unit Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable and ensure a disaster recovery plan is in place.
- Responsible in conducting reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities.
- Responsible in managing the Group’s financial accounting, monitoring and reporting systems.
- Responsible in liaising with auditors to ensure annual monitoring is carried out.
- Responsible in developing external relationships with appropriate contacts, e.g. auditors, solicitors, bankers and statutory organisations such as the Inland Revenue.
- Ensure adequate cash flow to meet the Group's needs.
- Assist the Group CEO in identifying new funding opportunities, the drafting of prospective programmatic budgets, and determining cost effectiveness. Responsible in arranging new sources of finance for the Group’s debt facilities and monitoring banking activities of the Group.
- Responsible for keeping abreast of changes in financial regulations and legislation.
- Develop and maintain systems of internal controls.
- Responsible to routinely check the corporation's financial health and integrity.
- Assist in training the Group Finance Unit and other staff on raising awareness and knowledge of financial management matters.
- Provide advice to Management on matters in corporate finance functions of the Group including mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures and corporate exercises.
- Prepare financial modelling and business valuations, as well as pre-investment analyses, feasibilities studies and due diligence activities.
- Performs other tasks assigned by the CEO and provide support to ad-hoc exercises assigned by top management.
Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business or professional degree such as ACCA/CIMA/CPA required.
- With MBA preferred.
- Must be a member of MIA.
- More than 7 years of working experience in the related field (senior level) is required for this position, with wide exposure experience in audit line. Would be an added advantage if have related working experience from a large property development, investment and management company / group.
- Familiar with company tax regulation and commercial law.
- Good command in both written & spoken English & Bahasa Malaysia.
- Detail oriented with excellent analytical, quantitative and investigative skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Comfortable in a team environment with changing priorities and time pressures.
- Highly motivated with ability to work independently within the context of a matrix organization and drive results.
- Able to handle responsibilities with poise, ease and confidence.
- Advanced capabilities and experience in the use and application of PC tools, mainly Excel and other MS Office.
