Company: An established construction company.
- Perform engineering calculations and design to develop structural concepts using specialized technical skills, experience and engineering judgment
- Schedule and budget the work to be accomplished
- Develop work scope and writing proposals for new work
- Coordinate in-house and/or external consultant based design teams
- Provides technical leadership and expertise for the organisation’s building construction projects with full responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing and coordinating technical assignments, ensuring that standards and procedures are adhered to, and recommending process improvements.
- Consults with third party engineering firms on tasks involving non-standard engineering issues and collaborates with peers and other departments to help minimise problems with workflow or changes that would adverse results to production timelines.
- Provides guidance on rules and regulations to senior leadership on technical matters pertaining to civil and structural engineering and making sure that projects meet legal guidelines, environmental directives, and health and safety requirements.
- Contribute to new designs and techniques which are of material significance to solving problems experienced within the company.
- Perform analyses using hand calculations, tower analysis software and other accepted methods.
- Promotes a safe and productive work environment and implement and follow quality control procedures.
- Exercise technical responsibility required within areas of technical competence for sealing engineering work.
- Provides executive management with timely performance reporting and departmental updates. Generate required engineering reports, analyze the information, and make recommendations.
- Provide reporting on the performance of engineering firms.
- Design modifications for tower reinforcing, extensions and foundations; work with the design staff in the development of modification drawings; check the accuracy of modification drawings and ensure quality standards are adhered to.
- Complete specialized engineering assignments requiring complex calculations.
- Assist in the selection of new design and analysis tools.
- Keep abreast of new technical methods and developments in tower engineering.
- Supervises, reviews, lead, develop and mentor less experienced engineering staffs for continuous improvement of engineering expertise, professional development and career path planning to assure technical quality, high productivity and adherence to schedules and budgets.

- Leads and directs the department to support the company strategy and to accomplish the engineering work according to the project plan and within the approved guidelines and standards and ensures all company policies and procedures are followed.
- Promotes innovative thinking to produce solutions to various workplace challenges.
- Manages resources, budgets, and project schedules to ensure each project is completed in the most economical and feasible method possible.
- Coordinates with other managers to resolve issues arising from disputes or sub-standard performance with regards to intradepartmental work.
- Maintains records, prepares reports, and composes correspondence relative to work.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering or a related field required. Add advantage is you have a Master's degree in civil or structural engineering, management or a related field preferred.
- Registered Professional Engineer, chartered engineer, professional license and/or certification are required.
- Proven track record of at least 10 years of structural engineering experience with at least 5 years of industry related experience in construction of high rise buildings. Preferred senior managers / senior engineers / senior engineering consultants with more than 15 years related working experience.
- Recent experience in Malaysia essential; overseas experience preferred.
- Experience in a similar managerial position is preferred.
- Detailed knowledge of structural analysis software and of tower structures and design methods.
- Demonstrate strong understanding of project delivery and technical disciplines within the team.
- Able to recognise limitations in process and seeks creative solutions.
- Broad knowledge of CAD software.
- Strong organizational skills; ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast paced environment.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively. Fluency in written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia is highly regarded.
- Strong organization, time management, and coordination skills.
- Ability to analyze and solve problems.
- Proven leadership and team building skills.
- Ability to build and maintain good working relationships with staff and clients.
- Willing to travel and handle projects throughout the country.
